National Kale Day

Recently in after school we have focused on keeping ourselves healthy, both physically and emotionally.  We spend a few minutes every day either doing a calm stretching and yoga activity, or doing a high energy workout activity.  We also eat lots of healthy snacks like baked potatoes and kale salad.  On National Kale day we make a HUGE kale salad to celebrate.  Our salad included carrots, apples, turnips and zucchini.  We also had a great discussion about things that help us feel better when we feel lousy – our poster had over 50 ideas suggested by students!
